Not dipped, soaked, or sprayed with anything. It is an all-natural firestarter with no chemicals or additives of any kind. The product is hand split, with a machete, from the stumps of pine trees which accumulate a dense concentration of pitch over the years. The natural occurring resin in the tree stump is extremely flammable and protects the stick so it will repel water and still burn easily. Use to start fires in the fireplace, charcoal grills, wood stoves, pellet stoves, firepits, campfires. The flammable pitch will ignite with only a single match and kindle a roaring blaze in minutes. The cost per fire is extremely low and in comparison to other starters very safe, clean, and non-toxic.
